Hand-thrown white stoneware pasta bowl with groove detailing. Incredibly satisfying to hold in the hand, I honestly can't get enough of this shape. 
 
In a fine white basalt-flecked stoneware, and glazed in a semi-matte Oatmeal glaze, these pasta bowls are the perfect thing for serving summer salads and pasta dishes. They are glazed on the inside with a transparent, shiny glaze, for easy clean. 
 
I initially throw these bowls to have a smooth interior and exterior, and then impress my fingertips onto the outside of the bowl whilst the wheel spins - leaving the marks of my fingers on the outside curve of the bowl. When leather hard, I then reinforce the grooves using my steel turning tools, before they are fired to 1260 degrees centigrade.
