I can never seem to have enough of these little vases - they're so good for short bunches of flowers you've nicked from a hedgerow (or daffs, or a couple of floppy tulips in the spring). This little jug would make a lovely Christmas gift and is a lovely example of my Sea Foam glaze at its best: variegated, turquoise blue breaking clear and shiny on thinner patches towards the bottom of the vase, with a range of colours on show.

I've turned the base and left a circle of clay proud on the base into which I've stamped my maker's mark - it results in a satisfying little disk which helps to anchor the pot down so it's not wobbly even with taller bunches of flowers in it. Why bother making pots by hand if you're not going to put some energy into the bottoms, right?
