Thrown on my wheel from fine white stoneware clay before being covered in my oatmeal glaze, resulting in a surface which is smooth, buttery and almost velvety to the touch.
The colour of the glaze is a very soft white, and they're a great size - I love these jugs, they're the perfect dimensions for a small bunch of wildflowers, a bunch of daffs or tulips in the spring, a whole pint of milk, or whatever else your heart desires. They are all super special one-offs, and are thrown in a shape that utilises sharp edges in combination with smooth surfaces to maximum effect.
I love making these jugs as they're all thrown from 1kg clay, pulled to however high I can stretch them on the wheel that day - therefore they range from 20-23cm tall respectively, and all have slightly different surfaces from the glaze application.
The bottom of the jug is simply turned, and stamped with my maker's mark.
With a traditional 'pulled' handle, and a tiny little spout
Dimensions
20-23cm x 4cm at rim
*please be aware this is a hand-thrown piece, and as such, small differences between images and jugs are to be expected.
Tall Jug in Oatmeal
Although *theoretically* dishwasher safe, to prolong the lifespan of this jug, I'd suggest hand-washing with warm soapy water. If any staining occurs, due to - say - contact with grubby flowers, the stain can be removed using bicarbonate of soda and warm water.
