A sweet little jug that's perfect for short-stemmed daffodils, a handful of snowdrops, or a posy of wildflowers. Thrown on the potter's wheel from gently-specked stoneware clay, I then trim the jug, add a traditionally 'pulled' handle and bisque-fire it to 1000 degrees. After the first firing I glaze it - in this case in my shino glaze, a pretty cream and orange speckled colour that is satisfyingly smooth to the touch.

Stamped with my maker's mark on the underside, it would make a very nice gift - to yourself or to others.
