Thrown by hand in my Bristol studio, these pasta bowls are made from durable, gently flecked clay. They're glazed on the inside, the outside being left raw, which creates a satisfying textural change.

Beloved by chefs and food photographers, the rim provides a brilliant frame for your food (and therefore looks quite pretty when photographed from above).

This particular bowl is glazed in my classic oatmeal glaze. It was fired in the hottest part of the kiln which means that the glaze becomes in sections completely glassy and transparent, and in others, where the crystals are more dense, it's a beautiful milky oatmeal colour, providing a satisfying contrast to the flecked clay underneath.

These bowls are thrown by hand, before being finely turned. They have a slightly raised, turned foot ring which helps create a lightness in the hand.

  • Dishwasher safe, however to prolong the lifespan of these bowls, I'd suggest hand-washing with warm soapy water. If any staining occurs, due to - say - contact with turmeric or beetroot, the stain can be removed using bicarbonate of soda and warm water.

  • These pieces are dishwasher safe - although hand-washing with warm soapy water will prolong the lifespan of the glaze.
